Support for Students and Families
From prevention to intervention: supporting students at every level

The Regional Office of Education #4 (ROE4) is dedicated to helping students in Boone and Winnebago Counties reach their full potential. We partner with schools, families, and community agencies to remove barriers that keep students from attending, engaging, and thriving in school.
Our services also include specialized support for students experiencing homelessness through the McKinney-Vento Homeless Education Program.

Tier 1
Student Support Intervention –
Early, School-Based Help
Our Student Support Intervention team provides academic, behavioral, social-emotional, and attendance support to students in grades K–12 within their home school. By bridging the gap between home and school, we help students stay connected and on track.
Tier 2
Attendance & Truancy Intervention –
Chronic Absenteeism
Our Attendance Intervention team partners with families and schools on a student referral basis to support students. Each interventionist works with their case load to address chronic absenteeism, remove barriers, and ensure students are consistently engaged in learning.
Tier 3
Regional Court Services –
Intensive, Court-Involved Support
For students involved in truancy court or other court proceedings, our Regional Court Services team provides intensive, wraparound support. We coordinate with schools, families, and community partners to help students reengage with education and move toward success.

Student Success Corner
Behind every number is a story—and behind every story is a student who matters. These success stories showcase the dedication of our SSI team and the incredible growth of the students they serve.
-
“At the start of the 2023–2024 school year, this sophomore had an attendance rate of 66%. Today, he’s proud to be at 85%—a remarkable improvement. With support from regular check-ins, incentives, and goal setting, he’s now aiming for 90% attendance and, for the first time, has set his sights on graduation.”
-
“One student came twice a week for help in US History. After focused support and practice, he raised his grade and told me how much he valued the time spent together. Seeing his confidence grow has been incredibly rewarding.”
-
“Through collaboration with a truancy interventionist, teachers, and the family, one student improved on-time attendance from 44% to 90% in just six weeks. With added homework incentives, he’s now consistently completing assignments, and his engagement in class has noticeably improved.”
