Area 2 SEL Hub

The Area 2 Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) Hub is a regional collaboration of seven different ROEs in Northern Illinois and is based out of the ROE4 office. The Hub’s mission is to help schools across our region to implement strategic, sustainable, and equitable social-emotional learning that support both staff and student wellness.

The Hub offers SEL-specific professional development, training, and support to schools across all seven regions it encompasses. Some of what the Hub offers includes:

- Needs assessments & data-informed planning
- Collaborative planning
- Customized SEL professional development
- One-on-one and team-based coaching

The 2026 Summer Symposium: The Power of Us

This year's Symposium will be on June 9th, 2026, at Embassy Suites Rockford.

The theme, The Power of Us: Level Up Your Impact, is all about building the meaningful relationships that amplify your impact - for your students, your school, and yourself. You'll begin the day with keynote from national speaker Dr. Tyler Tarver. Afterwards, you'll choose from twenty breakout sessions, enjoy your included lunch and ice cream snack, and have the chance to network with peers and interact with local exhibitors.

You'll walk away feeling refreshed, empowered, and ready to make a lasting impact, and you'll be equipped with ready-to-use SEL resources, tools, and instructional strategies to bring into your classroom in the new school year.
