How to use ELIS

The Educator Licensure Information System (ELIS) is the online platform where all Illinois educators manage their licensure credentials.

ELIS is your central hub for all things licensure. Through your account, you can:

• Apply for new licenses and endorsements: Whether it's your first license or you're adding a new area of expertise.

• Renew and register existing licenses: Ensure your credentials remain active and valid.

• Update your personal information: Keep your contact details and employment status current.

• Track your professional development (PD) hours: Log the hours needed for license renewal.

• View your licensure history: Access all your past and current credentials.

• Check the status of applications: Monitor the progress of your submitted requests.

For the best experience, please access ELIS using a non-Apple desktop or laptop computer. Handheld devices, tablets, and Mac computers are not compatible with the system.
