ISELA - Transition Planning for Leaders: PUNS and IL ABLE 101

Decorative images with the ISELA, ISBE, and ROE4 logos and text that reads: Transition Planning for Leaders: PUNS and IL ABLE 101

Special education administrators are among the first "resource for the resources" families turn to when planning for a child's long-term future. In this event, we aim to equip leaders with working knowledge of two important state systems. Presenters will walk administrators through how PUNS registration and IL ABLE savings accounts work, who qualifies, and how to talk families through next steps. Participants will leave with practical talking points, referral pathways, and answers to the questions families ask most. We’re grateful to be partnering with presenters from both Service, Inc. of Illinois–who partners with DHS to support enrollment in the state’s Prioritization of Urgency of Need for Services (PUNS) database–and the Illinois State Treasurer's Office. This session is designed for special education directors, coordinators, and building leaders across Illinois.
