
GED® Testing
Earn your Illinois High School Equivalency Diploma

If you are an Illinois resident who is 17* or older, have not earned a high school diploma or GED, and are not currently enrolled in high school, you may be eligible to earn your Illinois High School Equivalency Diploma by completing the GED tests at ROE4’s Testing Center.

Getting started is simple:

Go to GED.com and create a free account.

Use the platform to find study materials and prep resources.

Schedule your tests by selecting the ROE4 Testing Center as your preferred location.

Pay online and choose to take all four tests at once—or one at a time.

The four test subjects are:

Mathematical Reasoning
-
Science
-
Social Studies
-
Reasoning Through Language Arts

*If you are 17 years old, you may be able to register for a GED test, if you provide a drop letter from the last school you were enrolled in. Please send the drop letter to ICCB.CookHSE@Illinois.gov.

To ensure you’re ready, don’t forget to bring:

A valid, Illinois government-issued photo ID
Please note that some tests may require you to bring more than one form of identification.
If the ID is NOT issued by the state of Illinois, you will need to also bring:

Proof of Illinois residency (e.g., utility bill, lease, etc.)

Once all testing and Constitution requirements are complete, you may request official GED transcripts or a diploma directly from our office.
