A network of school social workers serves as a collaborative space for professionals to share resources, strategies, and support. Focused on addressing students' social-emotional and mental health needs, these networks foster connections among social workers to enhance their impact. They may provide training opportunities, share best practices, and promote advocacy for student well-being, ensuring a cohesive approach to supporting school communities.

Join ROE 4's Director of School Improvement and former administrator, Dan Holder as he leads the new Principal and Assistant Principal Network!  Come and collaborate with other school leaders to share best practices, discuss challenges, and support one another in your leadership roles.

School Bus Driver 2-Hour Refresher Course

Bus drivers are required to take a 2-hour refresher course each year to keep their permit current. Drivers or their district/company must pre-register here with the Regional Office of Education ($10.00 fee required at time of registration).

Course Information:

Drivers MUST BE REGISTERED TO ATTEND. Please register in groups of 1-10 participants until the class capacity has been reached. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. Phone-in or email registrations are no longer accepted for any bus driver training classes held at ROE 4. Once the class size has reached capacity, no further registrations will be accepted - NO EXCEPTIONS!

This course is held in the Regional Office of Education Main Training Room, 300 Heart Blvd, Loves Park, IL 61111. (Addresses of courses held at other locations are as listed in the School Bus Driver Training Schedule). Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Classes start promptly at 6:00 p.m. LATE ARRIVALS AND WALK-INS WILL NOT BE PERMITTED. The School Psychologist Network is a collaborative community designed to support and empower school psychologists in their mission to enhance student well-being and academic success. This network fosters professional growth through shared resources, peer connections, and ongoing training opportunities. Members engage in discussions on best practices, problem-solving, and emerging trends in education and mental health. By cultivating a supportive environment, the network aims to address challenges, celebrate achievements, and promote impactful, evidence-based practices. Together, school psychologists can build stronger school communities and advocate for the needs of all learners.

Our goal is to create a supportive school counselor network where you can:

• Connect with peers: Build relationships with other school counselors in the district and beyond.
• Share experiences and insights: Discuss challenges and successes, and learn from each other.
• Access resources and professional development: Stay up-to-date on the latest trends and best practices in school counseling.
• Advocate for student needs: Collaborate on initiatives to improve student outcomes.

This three-hour workshop empowers paraprofessionals to promote student independence through strategic support. Participants will learn evidence-based techniques for:

• Assessing when and how much support students need in different environments
• Implementing systematic support-fading strategies that build student confidence
• Developing supportive relationships that encourage self-sufficiency
• Creating personalized scaffolding plans that gradually transfer responsibility to students

Through interactive case studies and role-playing exercises, paraprofessionals will practice identifying the "right" amount of support for various situations and develop concrete plans for systematically reducing assistance over time. The session concludes with essential self-care strategies and professional boundary-setting techniques to prevent burnout and maintain effectiveness throughout a rewarding career. 

This three-hour workshop empowers paraprofessionals to promote student independence through strategic support. Participants will learn evidence-based techniques for:

The Regional Office of Education #4 and the Illinois Retired Teacher’s Association are excited to host four, unique and informative sessions for educators within their final two years before retirement! Our goal is to provide you with the support you need as you prepare for retirement!

Each session focuses on a specific content area impacting educator retirees. Attend them all, or choose the specific session(s) addressing the information you need! 

In this third session, we will have a TRS Representative on site to assist in supporting attendees and answering questions.

This is one of the Teacher Evaluator Professional Practice academies that needs to be taken for Retraining of Teacher Evaluators. This AA must be paired with AA 3000 to fulfill the entire retraining requirement. Course credit = 1 AA or 6 PDCs.

This academy will allow participants to learn effective skills and strategies for using Charlotte Danielson's Frameworks in a summative setting.
