The Teacher Academy in Character Education (TACE) has two fundamental purposes. The first is to inspire a personal commitment to character values as a teacher and further strengthen the noble purpose bedrock all educators share. The second is to equip teachers with character development best practices and evidence-based methods for building positive character skills in students. We've also identified and will measure a few bold goals for TACE Academy Graduates-increasing academic success in their classrooms, decreasing student referrals, lowering teacher turnover, and increasing job satisfaction.

School Bus Driver 2-Hour Refresher Course

Bus drivers are required to take a 2-hour refresher course each year to keep their permit current. Drivers or their district/company must pre-register here with the Regional Office of Education ($10.00 fee required at time of registration).

Discover how comprehension instruction can nurture a student's deep understanding of a text, being recognized as the very "essence of reading" (Durkin, 1993). This workshop is designed to provide 5-8 educators with the essential tools to move beyond basic strategy application and foster a deeper connection between the reader, the text, and the activity.

Participants will engage with a variety of approaches that transcend surface-level comprehension, leading students to extract meaning by synthesizing personal experiences with the text.

Join us as we delve into strategies that elevate comprehension, emphasizing the pivotal role it plays in shaping a genuine and meaningful connection between readers and the texts they encounter.
