(IN-PERSON) Update on School Law 2025: Bullying, Harassment and Intimidation: 21st Century Issues & Solutions - AA 1257

This IN-PERSON coursewill examine what staff needs to know to reduce bullyingand harassmentand appropriately intervene when it is observed, including how to help parents and students.In addition, the course will review the key components of state and federal law related to the Racism-Free Schools Law, the rights of transgender students, and other pertinent and related legal issues. Participants will be able to: understand the unique and subtle qualities of cyber-bullying and the role of school staff and parents related to prevention and intervention utilize strategies to promote civility and social responsibility in the classroom and throughout the campus provide appropriate support and resources to parents, staff, and students related to bullying and harassment - electronically and otherwise understand legal vulnerability and the strategies to avoid litigation or to prevail if litigation occurs.
