The School Psychologist Network is a collaborative community designed to support and empower school psychologists in their mission to enhance student well-being and academic success. This network fosters professional growth through shared resources, peer connections, and ongoing training opportunities. Members engage in discussions on best practices, problem-solving, and emerging trends in education and mental health. By cultivating a supportive environment, the network aims to address challenges, celebrate achievements, and promote impactful, evidence-based practices. Together, school psychologists can build stronger school communities and advocate for the needs of all learners.

School Bus Driver 2-Hour Refresher Course

Bus drivers are required to take a 2-hour refresher course each year to keep their permit current. Drivers or their district/company must pre-register here with the Regional Office of Education ($10.00 fee required at time of registration).

Course Information:

Drivers MUST BE REGISTERED TO ATTEND. Please register in groups of 1-10 participants until the class capacity has been reached. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. Phone-in or email registrations are no longer accepted for any bus driver training classes held at ROE 4. Once the class size has reached capacity, no further registrations will be accepted - NO EXCEPTIONS!

This course is held in the Regional Office of Education Main Training Room, 300 Heart Blvd, Loves Park, IL 61111. (Addresses of courses held at other locations are as listed in the School Bus Driver Training Schedule). Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Classes start promptly at 6:00 p.m. LATE ARRIVALS AND WALK-INS WILL NOT BE PERMITTED. No refunds will be given for no shows or within seven (7) days of this class. 

Our goal is to create a supportive school counselor network where you can:

• Connect with peers: Build relationships with other school counselors in the district and beyond.
• Share experiences and insights: Discuss challenges and successes, and learn from each other.
• Access resources and professional development: Stay up-to-date on the latest trends and best practices in school counseling.
• Advocate for student needs: Collaborate on initiatives to improve student outcomes.

Join us for an open discussion on current educational technology topics and trends. This networking meeting is open to all educational technology positions including technology directors, instructional technology coaches, and any other positions interested in discussing the current state of technology in our schools. While a short presentation may lead off our time together, the majority of the meeting will be open for participants to share their experiences and challenges with the group.

The Regional Office of Education #4 and the Illinois Retired Teacher’s Association are excited to host four, unique and informative sessions for educators within their final two years before retirement! Our goal is to provide you with the support you need as you prepare for retirement!

Each session focuses on a specific content area impacting educator retirees. Attend them all, or choose the specific session(s) addressing the information you need!

This IN_PERSON course will examine what staff needs to know to reduce bullying and harassment and appropriately intervene when it is observed, including how to help parents and students. In addition, the course will review the key components of state and federal law related to the Racism-Free Schools Law, the rights of transgender students, and other pertinent and related legal issues.

Participants will be able to:

• understand the unique and subtle qualities of cyber-bullying and the role of school staff and parents related to prevention and intervention
• utilize strategies to promote civility and social responsibility in the classroom and throughout the campus
• provide appropriate support and resources to parents, staff, and students related to bullying and harassment - electronically and otherwise
• understand legal vulnerability and the strategies to avoid litigation or to prevail if litigation occurs.

Target Audience: School Principals and Assistant Principals

School Bus Driver 8-Hour Initial Course

New Bus Drivers are required to attend an 8-hour training course. Pre-register for this course with the Regional Office of Education ($10.00 fee required) at the orange REGISTRATION (GROUP) button below. You must be currently employed by a bus company or school district.

Effective leadership in building and grounds management goes beyond technical expertise—it requires clear communication, strong organizational systems, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.

This session is designed specifically for Building and Grounds Directors who are responsible for maintaining safe, efficient, and welcoming learning environments. Participants will explore strategies for strengthening communication with school leaders, staff, and external partners; learn best practices for managing teams and workflows; and discuss proactive approaches to addressing challenges in facilities management.

Attendees will leave with practical tools to enhance their leadership effectiveness, improve day-to-day operations, and build stronger connections within their districts.

The goal of At the Table is to grow your professional network and extend your own thinking, around the power of being a woman who leads with purpose to impact those you serve.  

This engaging three-hour workshop equips paraprofessionals with evidence-based approaches to understand and influence student behavior positively. Participants will develop:

• Analytical skills to identify the underlying functions of student behaviors
• Practical techniques for implementing behavior intervention plans with fidelity
• Strategic methods for using positive reinforcement that builds intrinsic motivation
• Proactive strategies to prevent challenging behaviors before they escalate

Through scenario-based learning and collaborative problem-solving, paraprofessionals will practice real-world de-escalation techniques and methods for facilitating positive peer interactions. The session emphasizes versatile support strategies that can be adapted across different academic settings while maintaining the appropriate level of intervention. Participants will leave with a toolkit of concrete approaches for promoting positive behavior while systematically building student independence and self-regulation skills.

“Start to Unravel the Mystery of RSSI” is the first session in our RSSI series. This online informational session will be co-hosted with Chrissy Mombela, the Partnership For Resilience Director of Programs and Initiatives. This session would benefit administrators and leaders who want to learn what RSSI is, what the benefits of utilizing it are, and how TRS-IA, REACH, and SHAPE are connected to RSSI. Attendees will have time to ask questions as well. 

Register to join us virtually on Thursday, October 15th from 4-5:30pm. Registration will close 2 days prior to the event. 1.5 Professional Development Hours will be offered for attendees.

This will be the first session in the 3-part training series that ROE 4 is hosting to support our Area 2 administrators and school leaders with the RSSI initiative. Attendees can choose which session(s) to attend based on their experience level with RSSI. Register to attend any or all sessions that fit your needs!

This is one of the Teacher Evaluator Professional Practice academies that needs to be taken for Retraining of Teacher Evaluators. This AA must be paired with AA 3000 to fulfill the entire retraining requirement. Course credit = 1 AA or 6 PDCs.

Focusing on Domains 2 and 3 of the Charlotte Danielson 2013 Framework for Teaching, this academy allows participants to learn effective skills and strategies for using framework in a summative setting.
