This self-paced, online course offers support and guidance in the Educator’s journey of well-being through SEL and Mindfulness.  Included are a variety of tips and interactive activities to help you identify your own needs and implement helpful practices to improve your well-being. You will leave with a toolbox of information and simple practices to effectively advocate for your well-being in educational spaces and beyond.

In this self-paced course, participants new to mindfulness will investigate and engage with its pillars, and walk away with focused mindfulness practices that will help manage stress & physical/emotional pain as well as improve attention and communication. After all, in order for us to model mindfulness for our students, we must first practice it ourselves.  This workshop is for K-12.

This comprehensive course is designed to explore the critical elements of educator engagement and the significant impact of mental health on teaching efficacy and job satisfaction. Aimed at educators and school leaders at all levels, this course provides insights into what causes an educator to emotionally disengage from their work, the impact on their personal selves, and what they can do to heal in order to re-engage in the important work.

This 2-day ONLINE academy is for educators who are seeking initial training to be legally qualified to conduct evaluations of licensed personnel. The training aligns to the Illinois School Code competencies defined by Administrative Code Part 50, Section 50.420 (a-b).

This is one of the Teacher Evaluator Professional Practice academies that needs to be taken for Retraining of Teacher Evaluators. This AA must be paired with AA 3000 to fulfill the entire retraining requirement. Course credit = 1 AA or 6 PDCs.

This academy will allow participants to learn effective skills and strategies for using Charlotte Danielson's Frameworks in a summative setting.

Discover how comprehension instruction can nurture a student's deep understanding of a text, being recognized as the very "essence of reading" (Durkin, 1993). This workshop is designed to provide 5-8 educators with the essential tools to move beyond basic strategy application and foster a deeper connection between the reader, the text, and the activity.

Participants will engage with a variety of approaches that transcend surface-level comprehension, leading students to extract meaning by synthesizing personal experiences with the text.

Join us as we delve into strategies that elevate comprehension, emphasizing the pivotal role it plays in shaping a genuine and meaningful connection between readers and the texts they encounter.

This is a one-day event on August 5, 2024 from 8:30am to 3:30pm.

Each day, participants will have the opportunity to attend a series of four in-person sessions presented by regional subject matter experts. Topics will include domestic violence, mandated reporting, online exploitation, teen strangulation, and innovative student-centered practices. Participants will also have the ability to engage with interactive self-care stations and network with local service providers. 

All educators, in-school professionals, social service agency staff, nurses, social workers, counselors, and other allied professionals are welcome to attend!

This administrator academy is designed to support school leaders in understanding the effects of burnout and compassion fatigue that their staff may encounter as the first responders to student trauma. Participants will be provided resources and strategies to use as interventions and/or preventative measures to implement with their staff. Participants will walk away with strategies and tools to prevent or reduce burnout and compassion fatigue as well as leverage current support personnel to develop a system-wide team approach.
