School Bus Driver 2-Hour Refresher Course

Bus drivers are required to take a 2-hour refresher course each year to keep their permit current. Drivers or their district/company must pre-register here with the Regional Office of Education ($10.00 fee required at time of registration).

Course Information:

Drivers MUST BE REGISTERED TO ATTEND. Please register in groups of 1-10 participants until the class capacity has been reached. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. Phone-in or email registrations are no longer accepted for any bus driver training classes held at ROE 4. Once the class size has reached capacity, no further registrations will be accepted - NO EXCEPTIONS!

This course is held in the Regional Office of Education Main Training Room, 300 Heart Blvd, Loves Park, IL 61111. (Addresses of courses held at other locations are as listed in the School Bus Driver Training Schedule). Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Classes start promptly at 6:00 p.m. LATE ARRIVALS AND WALK-INS WILL NOT BE PERMITTED. No refunds will be given for no shows or within seven (7) days of this class.

School Bus Driver 8-Hour Initial Course

New Bus Drivers are required to attend an 8-hour training course. Pre-register for this course with the Regional Office of Education ($10.00 fee required) at the orange REGISTRATION (GROUP) button below. You must be currently employed by a bus company or school district.

This session will provide all teachers and administrators of students in grades EC-5th grade with the most important information on connecting ROE 4 educators with high quality literacy professional learning through LETRS, LETRS for EC, and LETRS for Admin. There are currently LETRS cohorts happening across the country, including right here in ROE 4 this school year, and ISBE currently has a cohort of administrators completing LETRS for Admin training!  If you would like to learn more about how you can connect with this exceptional programming, please join us from 1-2 on Thursday March 6th to learn more! 

ASPIRE is a professional learning experience, grounded in the science of reading.  ASPIRE is a flexible, self-paced, digital, International Dyslexia Association (IDA) accredited solution that empowers all educators to accelerate literacy skills among students in grades 4-8. A network of school social workers serves as a collaborative space for professionals to share resources, strategies, and support. Focused on addressing students' social-emotional and mental health needs, these networks foster connections among social workers to enhance their impact. They may provide training opportunities, share best practices, and promote advocacy for student well-being, ensuring a cohesive approach to supporting school communities.

• Advocate for student needs: Collaborate on initiatives to improve student outcomes.

Have an introductory understanding of restorative practices and want to incorporate the concept of reintegration circles in your school community?

Through interactive activities and discussions, participants will explore the importance of reintegration circles in promoting healing, reconciliation, and reconnection for all. You will learn how reintegration circles provide a structured process for welcoming individuals back into the school community after a period of absence or exclusion. By the end of this session, you will build knowledge and skills to effectively facilitate reintegration circles and support the successful reentry of individuals into their community. Target Audience: Teachers, Substitute Teachers, Paraprofessionals, School Administrators, Behavioral Interventionists, Social Workers, and Counselors!
