• By joining, you gain access to our online book study course until June 30, 2025. Start anytime before March -- the sooner you join, the sooner you can hop into the course!
• The choice is yours! Complete up to three books before June 30th for a combined total of 24 PDHs (8 PDHs for each book).
• Yes, you actually get to pick which books you read! Whether you own your book, pick it up at the local library, or borrow it from a friend, you have voice over what you're reading.
• Complete self-paced course assignments before and after you read to earn your PDHs.
• Attend our optional in-person Yak & Pak events (1 PDH per event) to discuss what you are reading and swap books with other club members. You can also earn some cool club swag by attending.

School Bus Driver 2-Hour Refresher Course

Bus drivers are required to take a 2-hour refresher course each year to keep their permit current. Drivers or their district/company must pre-register here with the Regional Office of Education ($10.00 fee required at time of registration).

Course Information:

Drivers MUST BE REGISTERED TO ATTEND. Please register in groups of 1-10 participants until the class capacity has been reached. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. Phone-in or email registrations are no longer accepted for any bus driver training classes held at ROE 4. Once the class size has reached capacity, no further registrations will be accepted - NO EXCEPTIONS!

This course is held in the Regional Office of Education Main Training Room, 300 Heart Blvd, Loves Park, IL 61111. (Addresses of courses held at other locations are as listed in the School Bus Driver Training Schedule). Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Classes start promptly at 6:00 p.m. LATE ARRIVALS AND WALK-INS WILL NOT BE PERMITTED. REQUIRED Student Growth RETRAINING course for administrator evaluators who are renewing their designations required to evaluate administrators.

You must attend the entire session to receive credit for this course.

This 2-day course is required for administrators who have never been trained to evaluate Principals, Assistant Principals, Deans, or other roles requiring Administrative credentials. Pre-work is required for this course. Both sessions are mandatory for credit!

Please note that you will not be admitted to the class if the pre-work assignment(s) is not completed.

This 2-day course will cover all aspects of evaluation, including principal professional practice and student growth data.

Upon successful completion, the educator will be certified to evaluate administrative staff.

REQUIRED Professional Practice RETRAINING course for administrator evaluators who are renewing their designations required to evaluate administrators.

This 1-day training is one of the courses that is required for all administrators who evaluate principals.

Pre-work is required and must be submitted, reviewed and accepted by the presenter prior to admittance into the training.

All administrators who evaluate principals are required to take retraining within their 5 year renewal cycle in the TWO specifically approved Administrators' Academies: AA # 3000 - Principal/Teacher Evaluator Retraining: Student Growth AND AA # 1865 - Principal Evaluator Competency Skill Building

You must attend the entire session to receive credit for this course.

This 2-day ONLINE academy is for educators who are seeking initial training to be legally qualified to conduct evaluations of licensed personnel. The training aligns to the Illinois School Code competencies defined by Administrative Code Part 50, Section 50.420 (a-b).

Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) shouldn’t be something else on educators’ plates. When implemented well, SEL is the plate that empowers all learners to grow and thrive academically and with their peers; however, educators often feel underprepared to teach students to grow their self-management, self-awareness, responsible decision-making, relationship, and social awareness skills. How do we empower these educators to support the social/emotional growth and resilience of stakeholders (students, staff, & community)? This is where SEL coaches can help - they provide the space, conditions, and resources to support a teacher, leader, or system as they refine their SEL practices, school culture, and climate. However, with the role being so new, systems aren’t sure how to make the best use of these supports. Join us for this Online - Self Paced workshop as we explore how to best leverage SEL coaches to facilitate transformational change and resiliency.
